Since completing a traditional 4 year apprenticeship in 1986 with John Lay and Co. Portsmouth and gaining the City and Guilds Craft and Advanced Craft Certificates in Painting and Decorating whilst studying at the Portsmouth College of Art (sadly no longer with us), I have worked on a variety of domestic properties including Listed Buildings, Period Properties and Properties within Conservation Areas, gaining a vast knowledge and a wealth of experience in quality decorating.
I work only for private residential homeowners, not builders or sub-contractors, so as a sole trader I deal directly with the customer from the start to the finish of the job.
I carry £2 million Public Liability Insurance and I am a none-smoker so you can be assured that your property will receive the care and respect it deserves.

I always use top quality trade materials as they perform much better than their cheaper DIY counterparts and produce a far superior finish as well. I am happy to use the latest water-based products as well as the more traditional oil-based coatings. I use the latest dust-free sanding and vacuum equipment from Mirka resulting in a 95% dust-free environment and ensuring that there is a lot less mess in the customers’ home. My tools, brushes and rollers are the best trade kit available because they save time, aggravation and enable me to produce a high quality finish. Unfortunately, I do not quote for insurance claims.
